Travis Kelce jokes about getting ‘one more ring’ on NFL kickoff day ahead of Chiefs opener

The NFL might be back Thursday night, but people are still focused on the “engagement heard ’round the world” between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.

Ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs’ first game of the season Friday night in Brazil against the Los Angeles Chargers, Kelce spoke to the media about the upcoming season.

Before Kelce’s time with the media expired, one lucky reporter with ESPN Brazil snuck in a question about the Chiefs tight end’s very high-profile off-the-field activities.

The reporter asked Kelce “how your life has changed” in the last couple of years since the start of his hit podcast, “New Heights,” which he co-hosts with brother and former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, and his love story with pop superstar Swift.

“You got all these things happening off the field. Can you kind of describe how your life has changed here?” the reporter asked, adding, “Is there a difficulty to focus on everything on the field, is that a challenge for you?”

Before Kelce could answer, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes made clear that the “things happening off the field” refer to Kelce’s recent engagement to Swift, which the couple announced on Instagram on Aug. 26.

“I got one more ring from it,” Kelce joked. “Two if we’re counting the first Super Bowl.”

“Ever since I’ve been with Taylor, life has been fun. You know, it’s been exciting,” Kelce added.

He acknowledged that there are “a lot more eyes” since they began dating about two years ago, “and I accept that.”

But he added that he’s just “living on a high.”

Mahomes added: “It’s a dream, dude.”

Another reporter then asked Kelce whether this season is his “last dance.”

“It’s the last one on the contract right now, but I’ll tell you what, I’m feeling young and I’m feeling ready to rock, baby,” he replied.
