Despite the encouraging news, fans shouldn’t expect Holland to immediately get back to swinging on webs and fighting crime on camera, as he needs time to recover.

During the Brothers Trust charity event, his father, Dominic, confirmed that the actor would be away from filming “for a while,” though his latest update suggests he’ll make a quick return.

Production on “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has temporarily been suspended to allow Holland time to recover. Still, the pause is understood to be costing the producers a whopping £1.5 million ($2 million) every day.

With the studio maintaining the movie’s targeted July 2026 release date, it remains to be seen when filming will begin, especially after Holland’s father announced he’ll be out for the foreseeable future.

According to the Daily Mail, sources shared that the film still incurs some running costs despite Holland’s absence, including paying the idle cast and crew, renting equipment, and studio space.

“It’s a headache for any production to have to pause filming, but with a movie of this scale, it will be a huge migraine for the producers and studio,” a source said. “Crew still needs to be paid throughout the delay, and there are also secondary location costs to consider.”

“While health and safety come first, everyone on the shoot will be hoping to get the cameras rolling again sooner rather than later,” they added.
