Rosie O’Donnell Slams Her Therapist Over Donald Trump Talk

Rosie O’Donnell has never hidden her disdain for Donald Trump, with their bitter feud spanning nearly two decades and often spilling into the headlines. Speaking on MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace’s podcast “The Best People,” the “League of Their Own” star admitted her therapist has questioned why she is so distressed over Trump’s presidency, prompting O’Donnell to fire back with her own pointed question. “What he’s done now hasn’t even hit us yet,” O’Donnell said. “And if he’s not stopped now, we have lost our country. I don’t know, Nicolle, how it is that some people cannot see it. My therapist said, ‘Why are you so upset?’ And I said to her, ‘Why are you not?'”

O’Donnell has taken drastic steps to distance herself from Trump’s influence in her daily life. Following his reelection, she relocated to Ireland in January 2025, though she has continued to speak out about the administration’s policies from abroad. “I encourage everyone to stand up, to use their voice, to protest, to demand that we follow the Constitution in our country, and not a king and not a man, and we don’t have cruelty as part of our governing style,” she explained on the podcast.

She also offered advice to fellow Americans grappling with the turbulent political climate. “Protect your sanity as much as you can, and try not to swim in the chaos, if possible,” the actress added. “But I know it’s nearly impossible when you’re there in the middle of it.”

The animosity between O’Donnell and Trump has been mutual for years, with the president repeatedly mocking the actress in interviews, speeches, and online posts. Her recent comments appear to have struck a nerve once again.

“Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

Just hours after Donald Trump blasted her on Truth Social, labeling the comedian a “threat to humanity” and suggesting he might revoke her U.S. citizenship, Rosie O’Donnell hit back with a fiery rebuttal. “Hey, Donald, you’re rattled again,” she began in her statement. “Eighteen years later and I still live rent-free in that collapsing head of yours.”

The actress and activist didn’t stop there, taking direct aim at Trump’s attempts to discredit her. “You call me a threat to humanity, but I’m everything you fear. A loud woman, a queer woman, a mother who tells the truth, an American who got out when the country caught fire.”

O’Donnell closed her response with a deeply personal jab, highlighting the stark difference between their worldviews. “You build walls, I build a life for my autistic kid in a country where decency still exists,” she said.

This isn’t the first time O’Donnell has fired back at Trump’s threats. Just moments after one of his Truth Social rants, she took to her own social media to unleash another blistering response.

“The potus ladies n gentlemen is a disgrace to all our beautiful country stands for. He is a danger to the nation. A mentally ill, untreated criminal who lied to America for a decade on ‘The Apprentice,’ thanks Mark Burnett, and you fell for it. It’s so tragic,” she wrote.
