Orlando Bloom gave fans quite the Halloween surprise when he posed for a photo with an actress dressed as his ex-fiancée, Katy Perry.

The unexpected photo quickly spread online, sparking laughter, shock, and plenty of double-takes.

Many fans couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star smiling beside a near-perfect Perry lookalike.

What was meant as a fun Halloween moment turned into a viral frenzy filled with nostalgia and curiosity.

Bloom turned heads this Halloween after posing for photos with actress Rachel Lynn Matthews, who dressed up as his ex, Katy Perry.

In pictures shared on Matthews’ Instagram Stories and later resurfaced, she wore a shiny blue spacesuit inspired by the singer’s recent space adventure.

Bloom, dressed in a skeleton costume with face makeup, wrapped an arm around Matthews as they smiled for the camera.

Another image showed Matthews recreating Perry’s viral moment when the singer kissed the ground after returning from her Blue Origin spaceflight.

The actress added the caption “Take up space!” across the photo.

While it’s unclear when exactly the photos were taken, the 48-year-old was seen wearing the same skeleton outfit at Vas J. Morgan and Michael Braun’s 2025 annual Halloween party in Los Angeles on October 31.

Once the Halloween photos surfaced on Reddit, social media users flooded the comment section with disbelief and amusement.

Many slammed the actor, calling his actions childish.

“Unless this was a discussed thing (which I doubt), this is child behavior. And I’m saying this as someone who doesn’t even like Katy Perry,” one person wrote.

Another commented, “He clearly does not respect Katy as the mother of his daughter because why would he allow this type of behavior on someone who might be around their daughter.”

Other fans noted that it was unacceptable, especially if Bloom was dating the actress.

“If my partner dressed up as an ex, even though I was never prior married and none of them were serious relationships, I’d really get him to a therapist. This isn’t normal adult behavior,” one fan shared.

Matthews’ costume wasn’t random. Her outfit directly mirrored Perry’s look from her historic 11-minute Blue Origin trip to space in April.

The “Dark Horse” crooner joined an all-women crew that included Gayle King and Lauren Sánchez Bezos, the wife of Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos.

The blue spacesuit, metallic shine, and playful energy perfectly matched the singer’s vibe during that flight.

During the journey, Perry shared that she wanted the moment to be about connection and the bigger picture.

While the Halloween photo brought back memories, Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s real relationship ended earlier this year.

The former couple, who share a daughter, Daisy Dove, called off their engagement in June after nine years together.

“Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable,” a source revealed at the time. “It’s not contentious at the moment. Katy is, of course, upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.”
