Miley Cyrus Talks Possibly Walking Away From Show Business

Miley Cyrus is not afraid of the day she might end her career in the entertainment industry!

The “Hannah Montana” star reflected on her past and future in show business during a new interview with Pamela Anderson. She noted that she had committed herself to her career from the age of 11 and never questioned her path until adulthood.

Miley Cyrus rose to fame as a teen idol on the hit Disney series alongside her father, Billy Ray Cyrus. She has since cemented herself as an influential figure in the music industry and appears to be mending the broken bridges between her and her father.

Miley got candid about her career while speaking to Anderson in an interview for CR Fashion Book. Their conversation, published on Monday, September 22, captured the women addressing various topics from fashion to their careers and expressing themselves creatively.

Anderson applauded Miley’s bravery and fearlessness in being herself and setting trends, rather than following the crowd, sparking an emotional response from the singer. She confessed that she was “always redesigning, reimagining, re-inspiring” not just her creations but the design of her life.

Miley noted that she reflected on her career the other night, revealing she was stunned when she realized her journey had begun at a young age. “I made a decision at 11, and I’ve never stopped. I made this deep commitment, and I never questioned it or reexamined it,” she claimed, adding:

“It wasn’t until my late 20s and early 30s that I started reevaluating: ‘Is this still what I want?’ So far, the answer has been yes, but I’m not afraid of the day it’s no.”

Miley doubled down on being brave enough to leave show business in the future, noting that there could come a day when her status as an entertainer no longer interests her. “And that’s okay,” she added, stating that she was not afraid to walk away from her years-long career.

The media personality noted that a significant part of being an entertainer involved sharing, which was why she enjoyed having time to herself by gardening.

“When we’ve shared so much of ourselves, having those little precious times with something simple, like putting a seed in the ground and nurturing it, it becomes a very personal process,” she explained.

Miley claimed gardening was the medicine that kept her grounded on her sobriety journey. She stated that “having a creative outlet that isn’t about fame or success” gave her the peace of mind she needed to relax and recharge.

Following the release of her ninth studio album, “Something Beautiful,” earlier this year, Miley opened up about her future in the industry. She told The New York Times that her attachment to mainstream success was “winding down” and that she might change her creative process.

“I’m definitely not going 180 in my career necessarily right now, but I think it’s potentially the last time I’ll do it exactly this way,” Miley explained in the video interview. She added that she did not see herself going through the same pressure she endured for her new album.

“A lot of things are going to change about that for me, towards the end [of this year] and the beginning of next year,” Miley declared. She noted that she saw herself going through a rebirth in 2026, changing how she looked at herself and her career.

Miley’s ninth studio album was released amid reported tensions within her family. The Blast shared in April that her older sister, Brandi Cyrus, had positively influenced the rift between the feuding relatives following her career milestone.

Brandi scored the opening act position for country singer Kenny Chesney’s Las Vegas residency and proudly shared the big news on social media. A source claimed her family members put aside their differences to celebrate her success.

They explained that there had been “a lot of sadness and heaviness for everyone in the family,” so Brandi’s success was a welcomed change. The source noted the feuding relatives were happy to have something positive to focus on, with Miley allegedly throwing a surprise party for Brandi.
