Combs is expected to speak at his sentencing hearing, as his attorneys requested he be given no more than 14 months — 13 of which he’s already served.
Sean “Diddy” Combs was back in court today to be sentenced.
Back in July, the jury found Combs not guilty on racketeering conspiracy and both sex trafficking charges. On the two counts of transportation for prostitution, Combs was found guilty. He was denied bail at the time and remained behind bars until his sentencing.
Diddy’s legal team asked Judge Arun Subramanian to sentence him to no more than 14 months, with 13 months already served. If given that sentence, he could be released within the next few weeks. The maximum sentence for a transportation to engage in prostitution charge is 10 years in prison, so he’s facing up to 20 years for the two counts — while prosecutors have asked for an 11-year and three-month sentence.
In the end, the judge sentenced him to 50 months — or a little more than four years — in prison. He was also ordered to pay $500K in fines.
A woman named Mia, who testified in trial, was meant to speak as well, but on Friday morning, it was revealed she wouldn’t be giving an witness impact statement anymore. The judge then called out the defense’s letter submitted to the court about Mia, saying its tone was “inappropriate”; in the letter, they wrote Mia “lied that she was a victim” and nearly everything “that came out of her mouth was a lie.”
After prosecutors pushed for a long sentence — and slammed him for allegedly lining up speaking engagements as soon as next week, if he’s released — Combs’ children spoke. His son Quincy called him a “changed man,” while son Christian asked the judge to “give us grace and please give him mercy.” Christian also said his father “always taught me to treat women with respect, also calling him a “changed” person.
Combs cried as his children spoke, with daughter Chance saying she and Jessie are “daughters who need our father” and who have “emptiness in our lives” without him. A 12-minute-long video that presented him as a great father and pillar of the community was then shown to the court.
Diddy himself eventually addressed the court, beginning, “One of the hardest things I’ve had to handle has been having to be quiet and not express how sorry I am for my actions. I don’t take that lightly. I would like to apologize to Cassie Ventura and her family.”
“I would like to apologize to all the victims of domestic violence. I know that the disgusting video triggered people. I was sick. Sick from the drugs. I needed help. But I didn’t get the help,” he continued. I hate myself right now. I’ve been stripped down to nothing,” he went on, apologizing to his family and his community, adding he has “no one to blame but myself” and vowing to “never put my hands on another person again.”
After the sentencing, Cassie’s husband, Alex Fine, took to his Instagram Story to re-share his statement from May 2024, the same day the video of Diddy’s attack on her at a Los Angeles hotel in 2016 was released. He captioned the share, “CVF❤️,” Cassie’s initials.

Ventura’s attorney also released a statement reading, “While nothing can undo the trauma caused by Combs, the sentence imposed today recognizes the impact of the serious offenses he committed. We are confident that with the support of her family and friends, Ms. Ventura will continue healing knowing that her bravery and fortitude have been an inspiration to so many.”
50 Cent, who has been outspoken about Diddy for a while, also reacted to the sentence by posting, “Hey to whoever was booking Diddy for speaking engagement. I heard he won’t be able to make it, 🤷 I’m available! 😆”
The centerpieces of the trial were former girlfriends Cassie Ventura and a woman testifying anonymously as “Jane,” with the women sharing similar stories alleging that they were coerced into sexual encounters with Combs and other men decades apart.
Aside from his former girlfriends, across the seven weeks of testimony, the jury also heard from 32 other witnesses, including Venura’s mother and ex-boyfriend Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi, as well as Combs’ employees, hotel staffers, and law enforcements agents involved in the hip-hop mogul’s arrests and various encounters over the years.
Prosecutors and Combs’ defense shared hundreds and thousands of text messages, phone calls, voicemails, and even video of sexual encounters involving Ventura and “Jane,” alternately called “freak-offs,” “king nights,” and “hotel nights.”
As the prosecution argued coercion, the defense spent its time countering with consent. See more trial coverage below.
