Sheen Flew a Plane Drunk
While recalling flying overseas on a major airline for his honeymoon with first wife Donna Peele, Sheen said tensions between the two were high and he started throwing back shots of alcohol. The actor claimed he was invited into the cockpit, before the pilot asked for a photo. He said that, while “approaching pirate drunk” he took control of the plane briefly after copilot was turned off. “I sat back down, owning this experience, and I just knew that trouble was on the horizon,” he said.

Clint Eastwood’s Words of Wisdom
When Sheen’s family and friends — including Martin Sheen, Emilio Estevez and Rob Lowe — staged an intervention in 1990, Martin handed his son the phone and recruited an A-list name to help talk him into going to rehab. “I said, ‘Hello’ and it’s that very recognizable, globally famous voice: It’s Clint,” said Sheen, referring to Clint Eastwood. “He said something to the effect of ‘You gotta get the train back on the tracks. kid, You’re worth saving.’ It was really powerful. I thanked him, gave the phone back to my dad and said, ‘All right, let’s go.’”

Skipping Rehab for Bikinis
He didn’t stay in rehab long, however, ducking out to judge a Hawaiian Tropic bikini competition with Nicolas Cage. He promised a nurse at the facility to pay her $1 million if he didn’t return by 8am the next day — claiming he showed up at 7:40am. “The nurse was happy for me, but disappointed for herself,” he quipped.

Nic Cage Nearly Blew His Cover
In another instance with Cage, Sheen claimed the two were both “high” on a flight when the other actor took control of the intercom on the plane. He launched into, ‘This is your captain speaking. I’m not feeling well. I’m losing control.’ He had taken it to a place where his intentions were just wildly inappropriate. You could hear people screaming and demanding information from the flight crew,” said Sheen, adding that police were waiting for them at the gate. “Nic didn’t know I had over an ounce of cocaine taped to the inside of my leg,” added Sheen, saying they were let off with a warning.

18-Hour Nosebleeds
While filming 1997’s Money Talks with Chris Tucker, Sheen claims he “got an 18-hour nosebleed from doing too much cocaine.” Saying his blood was dripping onto his shirt while filming, Sheen said he “got the director, Brett Ratner, to agree to make that shot go away forever. And he did, because we’ve never seen it right?”

Ice Cube Up the Butt
While filming the 1998 release Free Money, Sheen said he was struggling to stay awake on set after another cocaine bender. “That had never happened before,” he recalled, adding, “I said, ‘Give me a glass of ice’ and I said, ‘I’ll be right back.’ There was a little bathroom, and I went in there, and I took an ice cube and I shoved it up my butt. Never done that before. And, man, I was wide awake just enough to get back on the mark and finish the scene.”

Slash Convinced Him to Go to Rehab
After an OD and trip to rehab in 1998, it was Slash who convinced him to seek further treatment. “He said, ‘Dude, I don’t know that I’ve seen anyone before in this kind of shape,'” said Sheen in the doc. “This is Slash, right? GNR, rock God, the life he’s led. And he said, ‘No, dude, you’re out of options. You got to get to rehab. You got to save yourself, man.’ And coming from him the way he presented, it was like, whoa. Message delivered.”

Brooke’s Bad Influence
After years of sobriety, which he proudly proclaimed to co-star Jon Cryer when Two and a Half Men’ launched, Sheen said it fell apart in 2008, early into his marriage to Brooke Mueller. “I remember the night that nine years of no crack came to a tumbling, spectacular close,” he said, saying that it happened when he caught Mueller and a friend in their bathroom “doing blow.” Sheen said he knocked and they replied, “What do you want? Don’t be a party pooper.” His response: “If you’re gonna do this s–t in my house, you need to stop wasting it, and you need to do it properly. Let me show you how to cook this shit up. And it was on.”

Denise’s ‘Hooker’ Sandwiches
As his drug issues continued to get worse and worse, Richards then recalled being asked to check in on her ex to make sure he was still alive. She also recalled one time she went to Sheen’s home and Cryer was there, as she started making “white trash” sandwiches for her ex and the “three hookers” he had at the home at the time. She also compared Sheen to the dead body from Weekend at Bernie’s, recalling how those around him would just “prop him up” to get him to sign things, to make money off him.

Les Moonves Ultimatum
In January 2011, Les Moonves showed up at Sheen’s house with the head of Warner Bros. with an ultimatum. Denise Richards recalled them telling Sheen, “Either we’re putting out a statement that you’ve gone to rehab and we are going to resume filming when you come back, or this statement is, ‘The show is canceled and we’re done.'” Sheen said he told them he worried ” if I go back it’s going to go terribly wrong.” But he ultimately couldn’t resist the $2 million per episode payday. “It was just too much money to give a guy like me in that mindset at that time. It was a recipe for disaster,” Sheen admitted. Two months later, as his behavior continued to spiral out of control, he was fired.

Sheen’s Own Drug Dealer Helped Him Get Sober
Marco, who is identified as Sheen’s longtime friend and former drug dealer in the doc, said he was the one who helped get the actor off crack. “I can’t let that dude die. He’s too f—king cool,” said Marco, claiming Sheen’s drug counselor asked if he could make the drugs “less potent.” So that’s what he did, reducing the amount of cocaine in each batch. “It took about a good year and a half, but that’s why he got sober,” he added.
