Angel Reese has just teased a new collaboration with “Love Island USA” season 7-star Olandria Carthen, and the internet is buzzing.
Both women have had massive years, as Reese recently concluded her second WNBA season and sold out her first signature shoe, and Carthen became a fan favorite on the explosive seventh season of the Peacock dating show.
The collaboration announcement comes just a month after the two stars publicly connected on X, formerly Twitter, sparking initial excitement among their fanbases.

On Instagram, Reese and Carthen made a joint post, showing the “Love Island” star opening up a fancy press kit from Reebok that featured Reese’s new signature shoe, the Angel Reese 1.
“Oh, wow, this is nice,” Carthen said before pulling out a pair of Reese’s “Diamond Dust” colorway, calling them “so cute.”
Carthen then pulled out a pair of the pink “Mebounds” colorway, saying, “My favorite color is pink.”
Reese captioned the post, “Bayou Barbie … Bama Barbie. Cooking up something GOOD together. Stay tuned, y’all, MORE TO COME.”

Fans immediately flooded social media threads, writing about their excitement over two of the industry’s rising stars joining forces.
Carthen commented herself, writing, “My fav barbie. So proud of you! Such an icon.”
Unrivaled Basketball wrote, “The collab we didn’t know we needed.”
Mecole Hayes from “Big Brother” added, “Didn’t know I needed this crossover. Bayou Barbie x Bama Barbie.”

Angel Reese Followed Carthen A Month Ago, Sparking Even More Positive Reactions
The collaboration between Reese and Carthen feels like a natural fit, as the two had already publicly connected on X.
On August 18, Carthen wrote, “Thee Bayou Barbie followed me. My day has been made,” to which Reese replied, “Stopppp gorgeous! I can’t wait to see you, boo! So happy for you, my love.”
Several of Reese’s followers replied to her post, expressing excitement over the pair’s connection.
“ANGELANDRIA HIVE WE ARE SO UP,” someone joked, while another said, “Wait—this is my whole brand.”

Reese’s Signature Shoe Sold Out Within Minutes
Another reason the internet is excited about Reese and Carthen’s pairing is that it comes a day after Reese’s signature shoe sold out on Reebok.com.
According to a previous report from The Blast, the sneaker, which Reese describes as her “stamp on the game,” sold out in all three colorways within minutes of its release, prompting a wave of comments about Reese’s impressive influence.
“Reebok ain’t had this much traffic since AI and Shaq,” someone wrote. “Angel Reese—the woman you are, man.”

Reese reflected on her accomplishment in a separate video and later thanked her fans for being so loyal.
“The love y’all have shown for not one, not two, but three shoes … online and in store,” she said. “Y’all did not come to play. Everything was sold out within minutes. Sizes were sold out within minutes.”
She continued, “I’m just so full of gratitude because y’all did not have to show that much love to me … it’s crazy. So, I’m just grateful and thankful for you guys.”
More Colorways Of The Angel Reese 1 Are Coming Soon
And while the first stock of Angel Reese 1s sold out online, interested buyers will have their chance to purchase additional colorways in the coming weeks.
In October, Reese’s purple and black colorway, titled “Charm City,” will become available, followed by the all-brown “Tiago” colorway, and the all-grey “Giving Grace” design.
The last colorway, according to Reese, is especially special to her, as it’s a “reflection of who I am and the journey I’ve walked.”
“This colorway represents the strength to keep moving when the road is uncertain, the courage to rise after setbacks, and the kindness to extend grace to others as well as yourself. These shoes tell my story, and I hope they inspire others to walk in grace, strength and resilience,” she said.
