Lopez appeared to take a jab at her ex-husband Ben Affleck, and seemingly every man she’s ever dated or married, during a candid conversation with Howard Stern.

When the 56-year-old singer was asked if she had ever felt “truly loved,” Lopez responded bluntly, “No.”

The singer elaborated, “What I learned, it’s not that I’m not lovable — it’s that they’re not capable…They don’t have it in them! And they gave me what they had, right?”

She continued: “They gave me all of it, every time – all the rings, all the things I could ever want, right? Tried to give me the houses, the rings, the marriage – all of it.”

Lopez added that while she poured her heart into those relationships, she didn’t completely love herself at the time.

She believes her former partners also had their own inner work to do when it came to “appreciating the little person inside of them.”

Lopez also opened up about her divorce from Affleck, calling it “the best thing that ever happened to me” after two years of marriage.

The two-time Grammy nominee revealed that the breakup prompted her to engage in deep self-reflection and healing.

“It really made me go on a journey. I had a religious coach, a therapist, a couples therapist, an individual therapist, and even a coach to understand addiction. I had everything,” she said, per the Daily Mail. “I told myself, ‘I’m gonna figure this out if it kills me.”

Through that process, Lopez said she came to a powerful realization: “The core of it all is you. It’s nobody else.”

Lopez further stated that she now feels more confident and comfortable about being herself, explaining that she has grown to become more “self-aware” and appreciative of who she is as a person.

She noted, “Now I’m able to sit here in a much more self-assured, self-aware way of the things that have happened to me, whether my mother, my father, in my own life, how I learned to love, how I felt neglected — all the things that are in your head as a person — and know who I am and just really appreciate that person.”

“[I] feel really comfortable and good in being myself, all the good parts and all the kind of complicated things,” Lopez added.

During the chat with Stern, Lopez also reflected on how fame has influenced her relationships.

When the shock jock asked if she believed her romances were “doomed from the beginning” because of life in the spotlight, Lopez firmly disagreed.

“No, I don’t feel that,” she said. “I feel that the right person who can handle that… I think I’ve made mistakes in the sense that I live my life very out loud, even though I was in the public eye.”

She explained that her openness stemmed from a desire to fully share her life with someone: “I want someone to be there when I’m having my big, important moments on the red carpet. I want someone to be there when I’m doing whatever, or when we’re going to the store. Whatever it is, I wanted to share that.”

However, Lopez admitted that her perspective has now shifted.

“So I didn’t hide from it, and I spoke about it,” the singer noted. “And I think now, after what’s happened in the past few years to me and my children, I just feel like I want to keep that part so much more quiet in my life,” she added.
