The 23rd of September will forever hold a dear place in the hearts of Kimmel’s parents, Joan and James, who were in the studio when their son made his return to the TV screens.

A source in the audience shared that Joan could not hold back the tears as soon as the tapes began rolling, although she had given a warning beforehand.

In the words of audience member Leesa Bates, Joan stated, “‘If I start to cry, I’m sorry,” to which Bates reportedly replied, “And I said, ‘No, if you start to cry, I’m going to start to cry.’ And we did. But it was very sweet. She’s a very nice lady.”

Kimmel was also on stage, fighting back those tears as he shared his side of the story, insisting that his words on Charlie Kirk’s murder were misconstrued and blown out of proportion.

The Blast reported that Kimmel did not let Trump’s comments about his show’s return slide, as he accused Trump of actually threatening the ABC network with his speech, despite Trump’s initial claims that he was not.

He quoted Trump’s Truth Social post, describing him as a mad hatter who found it hard to believe ABC gave him his job back, even though he (Trump) got his job as president back.

Kimmel then turned his focus on those close to Trump, who have made it their job to clean up after him every time he says the darndest things.

“They go to all these lengths to say, ‘Oh, it wasn’t coercion, the President was just musing,” adding that the excuse stays valid until Trump then posts a gaffe that his bad ratings got him fired.

Kimmel proceeded to point out Trump’s hypocrisy regarding his poor ratings, noting that he has also performed poorly in polls conducted by The Washington Post, The Economist, and others.

Kimmel teamed up with his old pal and Hollywood legend on Tuesday night to deliver a short skit as a satire of Brendan Carr and Trump. Carr was right, left, and center in making sure Kimmel’s position stayed vacant for nearly a week, with promises to clamp down on TV hosts with controversial opinions.

That is not all, De Niro and Kimmel also poked fun at Trump’s statement that Tylenol use during pregnancy was one of the leading causes of autism. The director’s role on the show was not shocking at all, as he had always been vocal about his lack of admiration for Trump.

Last year, De Niro was beyond relieved to learn that the president was found guilty on all counts of 34 charges involving him and a sex worker whom he paid hush money to keep their business a secret.
