Jelly Roll Shaves Off His Beard For The First Time In A Decade
Jelly Roll, 40, revealed a new look when he shaved his beard for the first time in 10 years, as shared by his wife, Bunnie Xo, on Instagram on November 13.
“You guys, I have been with my husband for going on 10 years now, [and] I have never seen this man without his facial hair. Not one freaking time,” she said at the start of the clip.
According to Bunnie, the transformation was for a photoshoot, and with Jelly Roll’s significant weight loss accentuating his jawline, they were eager to see the change.
“Now that he’s so skinny — look at that freaking jawline — we wanna see that jawline, right, ladies?” she joked.

Before taking the razor to his face, the “Need a Favor” singer, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, kept the mood light, quipping, “We’re trying to see if a face lift might be in order,” before stepping off camera to begin the transformation.
Bunnie refused to peek until the very end, admitting, “I’m not looking until it’s all done,” before adding that Jelly Roll just kicked her “out of the room.”

Jelly Roll Shares Weight Loss Journey And Ambitious Fitness Goals
Jelly Roll has long been open about his struggles with weight. On Stephanie McMahon’s “What’s Your Story?” podcast earlier this year, he revealed, “I got fat, like, really, really young. I was over 300 pounds coming out of middle school. I’m gonna be under 300 pounds for the first time since middle school the night I walk to that ring at SummerSlam.”
The singer also set ambitious fitness goals for himself. During an appearance on his wife Bunnie Xo’s “Dumb Blonde” podcast in December 2024, he shared for the first time that he wants to grace the cover of Men’s Health by March 2026, joining the ranks of stars like David Beckham and John Krasinski.
“That’s my new goal. I wanna have one of the biggest transformations,” Jelly Roll said.
The Country Star Admits It Was ‘Hard’ Ending His Unhealthy ‘Relationship With Food’
Alongside regular exercise, Jelly Roll has worked to overcome a lifelong food addiction. In November 2024, he told People Magazine that he had to completely change how he “looked at food for the last 39 years.”
Growing up in Antioch, Tennessee, he explained, “Nobody in my house ever had [a healthy relationship with food], so that was the hard part, really fighting that demon at first and getting into that discipline and that commitment.”
He compared the process to a snowball effect: “Once you get into that discipline and commitment, it’s like an avalanche. Once that little snowball started rolling, it was on its way.”

Jelly Roll Opens Up About Mental And Physical Struggles During First Australian Tour
Meanwhile, during an appearance on the “No Filter with Kate Langbroek” podcast, Jelly Roll opened up about how challenging his recent Australian tour was for him both mentally and physically.
The “I Am Not Okay” singer, 40, said the experience left him feeling unusually isolated and overwhelmed.
He performed six shows across Australia from October 25 to November 4, marking his first-ever concerts there. However, Jelly Roll was forced to cancel his final show in Auckland on November 8 after coming down with a stomach illness that, he said, “f-cked my stomach up.”
The physical discomfort quickly affected his mental health. “When my stomach’s not right, nothing’s right. My mind’s not right. Everything feels off,” he said, per People Magazine.
When canceling the Auckland show, he told fans on Instagram that he had tried everything to push through but “just couldn’t do it this time,” noting how rarely he cancels shows.
Adding to the strain, Jelly Roll said that the lack of tour buses in Australia left him spending long stretches alone in hotel rooms.
